Alan Cameron AO has been a director and non-executive chairman since June 2015. He was a partner in a major law firm for 12 years prior to becoming Commonwealth Ombudsman (’91) and chairman of the Australian Securities Commission (ASC) and its successor, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) (Jan. ’93 – Nov. ’00). Since, he has been a company director and a consultant on various regulatory projects and governance reviews. Currently, he chairs Property Exchange Australia Limited, Hastings Funds Management Limited, and various companies in the BT Financial Group and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD). In the past, he was Deputy Chancellor of the University of Sydney and chair of its Investments and Commercialisation Committee. He graduated with degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Sydney, and is an Officer in the Order of Australia.

Michael Nark has held the position of CEO and Executive Director since September 2013. Michael brings over 25 years of experience in software and technology-enabled service delivery businesses. He recently served as President and CEO of Power Analytics. He has a proven track record of building successful, efficient organisations and experience in leading companies to profitable growth. Prior to Power Analytics he was President and CEO of Prenova, an energy management services provider to the C&I marketplace, where he led the business to triple digit growth. Prior to Prenova, he served as President and CEO of GEOCOMtms, a fleet management software provider to the oil and gas industry. Michael holds a B.S. in Applied Sciences from Miami University.

Gerd has been an Executive Director since December 2012. Gerd is a Partner at Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) based in Silicon Valley, California. He currently manages SVC’s investments in BuildingIQ, ChargePoint, QBotix, Sensys, Sunverge, Tendril and Wirescan. Earlier investments include Broadlight (acquired by Broadcom), Dune Networks (acquired by Broadcom), Prenova (acquired by Ecova), and SmartSynch (acquired by Itron). Gerd serves on the investor advisory board of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Prior to joining SVC, Gerd was Vice President and Head of CableTV Solutions in Siemens Information and Communication Networks. Gerd received a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Technical University Darmstadt, Germany.

Ken has been a Director of BuildingIQ since December 2012. Ken is a Principal at Paladin Capital Group, a multi-stage private equity firm based in Washington, DC. Ken focuses on sourcing, negotiating and monitoring investment opportunities in the renewable energy and cleantech sectors. Prior to joining Paladin, Ken spent six years as an Investment Banker with JPMorgan Chase (and the growth-focussed investment bank, Hambrecht & Quist, which was acquired by JPMorgan Chase). While at JPMorgan, he led the execution of over 20 equity offerings, 10 M&A transactions, and various other public and private capital raising transactions. Ken also identified and led four late stage private equity investments made by JPMorgan Partners. From 1991 to 1994, he was a senior consultant and auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co. in San Francisco. Ken received his B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University, and his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA.

William has been a Director of BuildingIQ since October 2012 and has been a director of BuildingIQ Pty Ltd since its formation in 2009. William is a Managing Director of Exto Partners Pty Ltd, a private investment firm based in Sydney. He has successfully managed IPOs, mergers and acquisitions for Exto’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining Exto Partners, William was a corporate lawyer in New York with Sidley Austin LLP and Skadden, Arp, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP, and in Australia with Ashursts (formerly Blake Dawson Waldron). He advised domestic and international corporations on capital raising, stock exchange listing (NYSE, NASDAQ and ASX), mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. William was admitted to practice law in Victoria, Australia and New York, USA and has an L.L.B. (hons) from Bond University 1995 and a B.A (hons) from the University of Sydney 1992. William is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Non-executive Director of RedHill Education (RDH : ASX) and chair of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Tanya Cox : Non-Executive Director

Tanya has been a director since August 2015. As the chief operating officer of $17.6 billion DEXUS Property Group for more than a decade, Tanya oversaw corporate responsibility and sustainability, risk management, marketing and communications, corporate operations and governance, as well as company secretarial practices. Tanya has more than 20 years’ experience as an executive director and 10 years as a non-executive director on boards as diverse as the Australian Paralympic Committee, Cricket NSW Advisory Board and Music & Opera Singers Trust. She is currently chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and a director of OtherLevels Holdings (ASX: OLV). As an appointee to the Board and Investment Committee of Low Carbon Australia from 2010 to 2014, Tanya oversaw investment of the federal government’s $100 million finance of carbon reduction technologies. A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Tanya holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance.
